About me
Hi! My name is Destini Moore, and I am a Counseling Intern at Neutral Ground Counseling Group. I am currently pursuing my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.A./Ed.S.).
As a counselor, I am dedicated to creating a safe, affirming, and judgment-free space where clients can be themselves. I strive to create a supportive environment where people feel comfortable exploring their experiences and moving toward meaningful change.
As a person of color, I understand the importance of being seen and understood, encompassing your whole identity. I am passionate about providing support and creating an environment that acknowledges and validates the unique experiences that come with navigating intersecting identities. I’m committed to making therapy a place where all identities and backgrounds are welcomed and celebrated. As an active ally to the LGBTQ+ community, I work to ensure every client feels respected and free to be their authentic self.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, collecting vinyl records, and traveling.

My Approach to Therapy
Clinical Training and Supervision
I provide therapy for teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Therapy offers a supportive space to explore experiences, strengthen communication, and develop new ways of understanding yourself and your relationships.
Clients often seek therapy with me for support with:
• anxiety and chronic stress
• depression
• relationship and communication challenges
• life transitions
• identity exploration
My approach to therapy is grounded in constructivist and person-centered frameworks, helping clients explore the meaning they make of their experiences while developing greater self-understanding and self-compassion.
In our work together, we may also draw from narrative and strength-based approaches to better understand personal stories and identify the strengths that support growth and resilience. When working with couples, I incorporate elements of the Gottman Method to support communication, deepen understanding, and help partners navigate challenges in their relationship.
My goal is to create a collaborative and supportive space where clients feel safe exploring their experiences and building meaningful change.
As a Counseling Intern, Destini is completing supervised clinical training as part of her graduate counseling program.
At Neutral Ground Counseling Group, interns receive ongoing supervision from Sally Harney, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS, ensuring thoughtful clinical guidance and high-quality care.
Therapy available online and in-person throughout Virginia.
