About me

Hi. I am Hannah Khan, a Resident-in-Counseling at Neutral Ground Counseling Group and earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary in May 2025.

I am especially passionate about identity work and supporting clients from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring their experiences, identities, and personal goals.

My clinical experience includes working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. I take a person-centered approach to therapy, helping clients develop greater self-understanding and build the tools they need to move forward.

My Approach to Therapy

Clinical Training and Supervision

I provide individual therapy for teens (12+), young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, identity exploration, and life transitions. Therapy offers a space to better understand what you are experiencing and develop new ways of responding to difficult emotions and situations.

Clients often seek therapy with me for support with:

• anxiety and chronic stress

• trauma and difficult life experiences

• grief and loss

• identity exploration

• life transitions

My work integrates elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic approaches, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral strategies. These approaches help clients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences while developing practical skills for emotional regulation and coping.

I take a person-centered and collaborative approach, working with clients to better understand patterns that may be contributing to distress while building tools that support long-term growth and resilience.

As a Resident-in-Counseling, Hannah is completing the supervised clinical hours required for independent licensure in Virginia.

At Neutral Ground Counseling Group, residents receive ongoing supervision from Sally Harney, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS, ensuring thoughtful clinical guidance and high-quality care.

Therapy available online and in-person throughout Virginia.
